looks
Soo-Jin is, simply put, a walking contradiction and she's not afraid to show it. Her stance is one befitting of a Sumuri heir--prim and proper, with warm-brown eyes that somehow still give a piercing look when need be, and a fair complexion that seems to shine brighter when exposed to sunlight. One might say that, at a given distance, you could mistake Soo-Jin for Si-Young himself. If it hadn't been for the fact that she loves to dye her black hair in a variety of colors, or that it's always messy compared to the well-combed hair of her father's, then Soo-Jin would have definitely been the spitting image of Lord Oshima of Hanyu.
She's rarely seen without any armor on, even when off-duty, and always carries some form of weapon with her that's either hidden or not. She doesn't take it to extremes, however, thus her daily outfit would most likely include a light form of armor (leather) and a dagger in her boot. When required, however, Soo-Jin can be formal--although she likes to give her own twist here and there. Being someone who isn't fond of rules meant that Soo-Jin was one for giving fashion understatements, like oversimplifying her clothes during a big gathering, and even more so when it's a normal day to the point that sometimes one couldn't believe she's actually an heir to the Sumuri throne.
However, that doesn't mean that Soo-Jin doesn't clean up nicely--she can, but only if she chooses to do so. The Sumuri heir's regality and elegance can and will occasionally show, although sometimes one might be confused as to whether they're admiring a handsome lord or a beautiful lady. Indeed, Soo-Jin's appearance seems to vary from person to person--at times she carries a masculine charm, at times feminine grace, or sometimes it's neither of the two and can be completely something else. It should also be noted that she's always on one side of two extremes--oversimplified or extravagant clothes, extremely messy or very slicked back hair, this and that and whatnot.

past
Contrary to popular belief, Soo-Jin's birth was as remarkable as a potato. In fact, no one really knew she was coming--the lords Si-Young and Hong-Min had kept quiet about it, only revealing her birth when Soo-Jin was four weeks old. There was no celebration or grand announcement--just citizens gaping in shock when Si-Young and Hong-Min came out carrying a baby. A baby that, when the time came, would soon govern the terrestrial counties of Sumi.
Growing up, Soo-Jin was considered somewhat of a trouble child. Aside from the occasional acts of mischief that she claims are borne out of "boredom", there is also the fact that she never seems to do well with listening--especially to her tutors. Anything that didn't interest her immediately passed through her ears, while anything fascinating to her quickly grabbed her full attention. Growing up, she was quite invested in swordfighting, but kept things at a balance by also being interested in strategic games like chess. Social traditions and other things that nobility were meant to do? She had little to no importance for such things.
- grew up loving swordfighting
- was really mischievous
- her interest in swordfighting eventually landed her a position as an officer in the Navy at the age of 18
- Her determination, strategic intelligences, battle prowess, and experience are what eventually got her the rank of Captain in the Sumuri Navy
