looks
People have a hard time deciding whether Aradessa is "disheveled" or "prim" in their eyes--there's just an air to her that makes the two contradictions work together seamlessly. Fitting to her eccentric nature, Dess likes to dress in quite an unconventional fashion, subtle enough for the observant eye to notice but not to the point where she'd stand out in a crowd. She prefers long sleeves, has an arsenal of cloaks and small hats in her closet, and enjoys the comfort of boots and leggings in contrast to dresses. All in all, she chooses practicality and comfort over, say, appearance.
Her curly, chocolate-brown hair is almost always tied up in a messy ponytail or bun, and a few strands frequently escape to hang down the sides of her face, making Dess habitually blow them away. Aradessa's eyes are an amber brown, almost golden whenever it's exposed to the light, and they seem to carry a mischievous glint in them. Standing at a height of 5'7", Aradessa has a slender figure that's more suited for agility rather than strength. Her satyr genes have gifted her with two white horns atop her head resembling those of a ram's, curved and looking like decorations to her hair. Additionally, small and almost unnoticeable hairs line across her arms and most prominently in her legs, black fur that she had inherited from her unknown satyr mother.

charms
Definitely living up to the Gavrani name, Aradessa's most distinguishing trait is her brilliance. Resourceful and creative, she thrives in unconventionality and certainly thinks differently than most people, always thinking of new ways rather than sticking to old ones. Her mind holds a vast array of knowledge and information, constantly being added to every day either through observing the little things around her or through taking the time to read a new book. It's not rare to see her with a book or pen and paper in hand, randomly jotting down notes whenever she is met with new observations (half the pages are just simple doodles, but Aradessa will never admit that).
In addition to her innovative mind, Aradessa also holds an impish mindset, and it's common to experience shenanigans whenever you're around her. You can say that she's a trickster, always three steps ahead than most even if it doesn't show. She likes to outsmart her opponents, a fully-tactical mind having hidden itself underneath a visage of mischief and slyness.
However, her genius doesn't save her from being an emotionally stunted person--yes, she may be able to read you if she so pleases, and she may be able to successfully wrap you around her finger, but Aradessa is an idiot when it comes to personal attachments, relationships and friendships and family. Growing up, the only person she's ever been close to was her father, and even then he wasn't really around half the time. She can hold up a conversation, heck, she's a fun person to be around, but Aradessa can't seem to wrap her mind around the notion of friendships. It feels very foreign to her and when faced with such a situation she would be as clueless as a toddler.
Her loner tendencies, eventually, have made her accustomed to being very independent. Aradessa grew up having to fend for herself, even despite her noble upbringing, and thus she is used to doing things all on her own. Her emotions? She likes bottling them up and exploding whenever there's no one around. Help? It's funny how she doesn't know how to ask for help, considering many people enter her shop asking her to repair their furniture or create a device. All in all, she feels really lonely inside, she just doesn't know it.
But people change, right? Maybe, one day, people might be able to get through Aradessa's closed heart and become her friends. Maybe, they'd be able to impact her life enough to make her change.
Who knows?

past
The Gavranis have always been an intellectual bunch, even before Khan Kagiso's rule, and quite possibly since the beginning of times. They've prided themselves for having a name in almost every academical branch ever, albeit most of them aren't very world-changing or impactful. Based in the province of Tuya, the Gavranis usually take up jobs in the political, judiciary or academical field.
Alesso Gavrani was a well-respected member of Tissam's Supreme Court of Justice, a man that everybody loved and looked up to, so it was quite a shock when he was rumored to have been having an affair behind his wife's back. For a few months it stayed as just that, rumors, up until Alesso brought home a little bundle that carried his illegitimate child with an unknown woman. His wife, Vika, wasn't very happy with her husband's decision to take a bastard child in, and yet after many fights and one big reconciliation she eventually gave in.
Growing up, Aradessa was treated as equally as her siblings were, although her stepmother does send subtle reminders that she was never going to belong. Despite being smart enough to catch onto these subtleties, instead of bringing her down it only strengthened Aradessa's resolve to prove herself worthy of the Gavrani name. And she was, she just didn't see it. As a child, Aradessa had always shown a resourceful and creative side--her room was more akin to a carpenter's workshop than an actual room, filled with discarded things that she had picked up in her (secret) treks around Tissam. While it's not exactly what one would expect of a Gavrani, it's also didn't mean that the rotten apple strayed too far from the tree.
At the age of 17, Aradessa enrolled into the Kagiso Academy. Her stepmother, a teacher at the Academy, was still subtly attempting to make her flunk, and for a while Aradessa almost did--when she was 19 she had to cope with the sudden death of her father to an illness, as well as her stepmother's constant criticism and comparation to her older brother, Vikander. She'd never really had someone to confide to during those times, and poured it all out through studying and working secretly on the most eccentric machinations she could think of. Finally, at the age of 21, Aradessa graduated from the Academy with flying colors, the top of her class and with a many a job ahead of her.
She took none of these, however. Wanting to distance herself from her family, Aradessa packed up her belongings and set straight for Yusha, believing that if she wanted a job opportunity, it sure as heck should be somewhere far from her family. Eventually she set up a shop in the Capital where she sells various eccentricities, builds devices for her clients and helps repair anything the locals have deemed broken.
Only fate can tell what's next for this young inventor.
